Please note, we are meeting in the cintiq lab in room 325 this week.
Hey CAS members,
Ever wanted some advice for making amazing layouts and backgrounds?
CAS officer, Lydia Williams, will be giving a presentation on the art of backgrounds! She is an amazing layout designer and background painter, and will be giving tips and advice for the process of making amazing backgrounds.
Since we will be working in cintiqs, if you have an intuos3 or cintiq pen, please bring it with you to the meeting. We will also be talking with the cage to have checkout pens available. Montgomery Hall 325 this Thursday at 8:30 PM to prepare for our trip to the wild side! Remember, room 325!
Don't forget, we will be looking at/selecting a design for the CAS mural for Sidewalk Arts Thursday after the presentation.
SO BRING IN THOSE DESIGNS!
This Saturday is the 2008 Sidewalk Arts Festival, and CAS is preparing for our annual 3-square chalk mural! If you would like to participate, there will be a sign up at our upcoming CAS meeting.
CAS's squares are near the large statue in the center of the park; look for us!
Chalk drawing starts at 11AM, so be a little early if you want to start at the start point, and runs until 4PM. Once 4PM hits, it’s judging time!
Don’t forget that you can have YOUR idea featured this year!
We’re looking for your designs to select our mural this year. [/b]Keep in mind that as the Contemporary Animation Society, we look for designs that have a cartoon appeal or relate to animation.
As well, there is a prize available for winning designs of a marine nature, but there is no requirement to have your design fit a marine nature for CAS’s mural.
Mural designs are due at our meeting this week, where we will be selecting the winner at the end of the meeting.
And for those eagerly awaiting, we are proud to announce the return from vacation of Arts Educators (WE MEAN IT THIS TIME). The students and teachers are eagerly awaiting the return of our program and want to see us as much as we want to teach them. So if you would like to teach the joys of animation to some very appreciative children, now is your chance!
Meet in the lobby of Montgomery Hall (front doors) at 2 PM on Friday.
It is a great opportunity to spread the joys of the craft!
Our final note this week is our T-shirts.
Spread the word! ORDER TODAY!
CAS is proud to announce that we will be offering T-shirts to our members for $10! Come to our meeting to sign up for a size and pay for your awesome, CAS-lovin’ shirt this Thursday!
So prepare to expand your background horizons,
I’ll see you Thursday,
Elaine Nybeck,
CAS Secretary
